What struck me most in this conversation wasn’t just the success — it was the turning point behind it.
Back in 2005, Maria was so disheartened she nearly walked away from property management altogether. She even sent out a mass email saying she was done.
Three influential colleagues reached out and encouraged her to stay. They saw leadership in her that she hadn’t yet recognized in herself.
That moment changed everything.
Instead of leaving the industry, she built New Concept Management — now one of Calgary’s leading condominium management firms. Recognized by Condo Living Magazine, known for its hands-on approach, and deeply committed to proactive education for boards, owners, and residents, the company has become a benchmark for professional, ethical condo management in Alberta.
Her advice for aspiring property managers?
